I suggest you ...

A piano-roll graph showing each bars presence

A piano-roll graph where each horizontal increment is a day and for each bar shown vertically in the database has a dot showing its presence or a gap when not there. Would make it visually easy to see bars dipping in/out of the pool. Perhaps filter out bars which don't move to reduce clutter.

      • Hi PopeJohn, I've now got the data to do this, and will be working towards a graph which shows exactly what you've described. Worth noting that for SLV, the sheer volume of entries on a single page would swamp the signal-to-noise (i.e. with 300 bars represented by one pixel, the chart would still be off the page), so a variant on your proposal is needed. I'll dedicate a single post to this concept. Thank you for your suggestion, it's a good one.

And perhaps order them by the amount of volatility (in-and-out-ness).
